**NOTICE**

UPDATED 6/9/20: BOTH HANOVER BOROUGH AND YORK COUNTY HAVE WAIVED THE PENALTY FOR REAL ESTATE AND PER CAPITA TAXES FOR THE 2020 TAX YEAR. PLEASE SUBMIT ANY OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS USING THE FACE AMOUNT PRINTED ON THE BILL

Please be aware that while the penalty is waived until the end of the year, the waiver requires that any real estate taxes turned over to York County Tax Claim or per capita taxes turned over to York Adams Tax Bureau when our collection period ends on December 31 will be submitted at the penalty amount.

We are currently open to walk-in traffic; however, we continue to monitor the situation and to work closely with our fellow local officials to determine the best course of action to balance efficient operations and safety. We may close again without warning if conditions warrant and we are requiring masks for visitors in our office. 

The "green" reopening phase continues to advise caution for in-person operations when alternate operations are possible. Please be advised that do to space limitations and office layout, we do not have sufficient space for multiple people to be in the office simultaneously with everyone maintaining the recommended six feet of distance and we have a high volume of traffic during our busy times, which increases risk both to you and to us of coming into contact with the virus in our office. We have the ability to conduct all business via mail and drop box, so we recommend that you continue to use one of those options whenever practical.

For our seniors who need their receipt stamped for your state rebate application, we have several alternate methods available. You always have the option to mail your entire bill with a self-adressed stamped envelope and we will stamp the recepit portion paid and return it to you. We can also email you a receipt, but please wait to make your request until all of your taxes are paid for the year. You can request an emailed copy at hliska@borotax.net

We are still working and processing will continue as usual. Please make your payments via U.S. Mail or via the drop box provided in front of our office whenever possible to minimize contact. Please do your part to particpate in social distancing, wearing a mask, etc. so we can all get back to normal as quickly as possible! Thank you for your patience as we work through this very unusual situation together.
